Crime of Passion

Word is out and parading the streets with no cloths on,
Anne just shot Bill…..
Like a tsunami sweeping through ears and leaving mouths agog
Apparently bill paid the ultimate and only price of betrayal
The cold stare in Anne’s eyes as the police car rolled away was a window to an unfamiliar place
All that kindness and gentleness ran off into the wild
Love certainly lived there no more…
In nine years it was easy to love a man with all including your soul
She called him hers at night when the cold bit deep and in the day when she toiled to keep those fine silk shirts on his ungrateful back
He said he loved her with a well crafted smile while his thoughts nested on Susan’s pointed breasts
What she didn’t know won’t hurt her
Everything looked good in the dark
Tonight Susan left more than lipstick stains behind
The red stains on the head board were a sign of a night gone wrong
That mischievous headache that sent Anne home early certainly picked the wrong day
Where they found bill he lay not with a smile but eyes wide with surprise
Shadowed by a lady with a gun considering no plans of escape…
