The planked mind

Sometimes the mind is a room with nothing to hold on to
Tracing each corner for a way out or even a view
Cold concrete walls in silence confirm your fear
You’re trapped in your own mind
Claustrophobia causes the heart to gasp for air
In panic you won’t stop walking circles
Hoping the walls will suddenly give way
Maybe let in a little light
The Warmth of its rays on my skin
Sometimes to feel is all it takes to know you’re alive
