An open door

Within the warmth of my heart find a home

When all around is nothing but war

With waves of insecurity crashing you shores

And the doubts of life shoot arrows with you as their aim

When tongues call you all but good

And kindness leaves you stranded in a strange place

Built wide for your baggage to come through

Here waits the door to a heart that will wait hand and foot

To wrap you in sheets warm and clean

Building a wall to the things that pursue you,

You can be sure it will

With kind lips it will say ‘I understand’

And with a warm embrace declare its confines your space

Let no one tell you different

Let not their lies deceive you

For the smoke screens will clear soon

And all intentions laid bare
